Garden Design

We offer a friendly, personalised garden design service. However large or small your garden, together we can create a garden designed to suit your needs, lifestyle, tastes and budget. Many garden designers simply create a design and then leave you to your own devices, we can take you right through from start to finish. A well designed and built garden is a long-term investment that adds value to your property, not withstanding the pleasure it brings when designed and planned to your requirements.

Step 1 - The Initial Consultation
We discuss your requirements, preferences, timing and budget. Particular plants and styles you would like to incorporate and as important, your dislikes – for example: - colour, structure, texture, fragrance, seasonality, formality, low maintenance and how you wish to use the space/s in your garden.
Whether you want a simple low-maintenance garden; a planting design only; or the whole garden re-designed involving both soft and hard landscaping, we can accommodate you.
Bring any photos or plans you have of your garden, printed or digital, which show the following where possible: the view from upstairs; from downstairs; of the garden from the house; of the house from the garden; views to either side of your plot; of the entrance to your garden (this is to assess any potential access restrictions).
Please telephone us to make an appointment.

Step 2 – Site Visit
The site visit takes place after the initial consultation. We will confirm details and ideas discussed in our first meeting – this is the ideal opportunity to alter, adjust and confirm. Any changes and adjustments that you care to make can be planned in at this stage.
Our aim is to design a garden that you will be utterly thrilled with, so please do take the time available from the initial meeting to the date of the site visit to carefully evaluate your preferences and requests.

Step 3 – Outline Design
The outline plan incorporates all the basic requirements and foundations of the design. If the requirement is for a planting design only, this will be an outline planting list, which at this stage can be tweaked and altered accordingly. If the plan involves hard and soft landscaping, this will be an outline of the proposed design – soft and hard landscaping and lighting if required.

Step 4 – Detailed plan
This may involve all of the following or parts thereof: - Hard and soft landscape design - planting schedule – lighting design – irrigation
At this stage we will be able to estimate the likely costs involved.

Step 5 – Realisation
The process begins...
We only appoint contractors that have proven to be reliable and are experts in their field.
Our preferred landscaper has an unequaled amount of experience, knowledge and eye for detail and will not accept anything other than perfection. We commission a commercial electrician to undertake all electrical and lighting work in the garden. Through the consultation process, a lighting scheme tailored to your garden and budget can be achieved using the very best materials available. Irrigation - a comprehensive advisory and installation service is undertaken by irrigation specialists.
